Ari B.

Ari is 11 years old. He has loved classical music since he was born. He has enjoyed working with Mrs. Gorin since August 2007 and participating in many piano recitals and competitions. Ari was honored to receive many awards this year at: The CYO, Matinee Musicale, Carmel Arts Council, and most recently The World Piano Competition. He attributes his success to hard work and an incredible teacher. He is looking forward to playing at Carnegie Hall this fall. Ari also enjoys soccer, tennis, reading, art, and writing music. He will also begin playing violin with the 6th Grade Orchestra at Creekside Middle School this year.

Kitty F.

Kitty is 11 years old and is a sixth grader at clay middle school, Carmel, Indiana. Kitty was born in Shanghai, China . She moved to Indiana, US with her family in November of 2007 and since then she has demonstrated her strong adaptability in a very different environment and culture. She is the top student in her sixth grade Humanities, math, band and art classes. She likes all kinds of music. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, singing, painting, playing flute, and traveling with parents. She also likes to bake desserts with her mom, and hang out with her friends.

Kitty started playing piano in 2003 in China. She received the Grade 1 certificate of Music Grade Examination of China in Oct. 2003 and then Grade 4 certificate in Oct. 2005. She participated in many concerts in her elementary school in Shanghai. Kitty started to take piano lessons with Mrs. Irina Gorin from June 2008 and enjoys them very much. She likes to play in recitals and is looking forward to the competition in 2009.

Angela H.

Angela is 7 years old, and she is a 2nd grade student. She started her piano lessons with Mrs. Gorin five months ago and enjoy it very much. Besides playing piano, she is a very good swimmer, she loves downhill ski, figure skating and chess. She likes to play with friends and travel with her family.

Haley K.

Haley is 16 years old and in the 11th grade. She has been a student of Mrs. Gorin for about 4 years. Haley has participated in various recitals and competitions throughout the last 4 years. She loves pieces that are written by the composer Grieg. In 2008, Haley had the opportunity to play at the World Piano Competition and counts this as one of her most memorable moments. Some of her other interest include participating in The Northpoint Choir, dancing, and playing Volleyball for the Northeastern Tigers.

Hannah K.

Hannah is 13 years old and is in the 8th grade. She has been taking lessons from Mrs. Gorin for about 4 years. She has had many opportunities to participate in recitals and competitions. Hannah’s most memorable moment would have to be playing in the Young Performers Competition February 2009, where she was awarded a second place medal. Mrs. Gorin has helped Hannah to develop not only musically but has helped her become a more confident young lady. Hannah also enjoys participating in the Northpoint Choir, playing Volleyball for the Northeastern Tigers, and reading various types of Literature especially poetry.

Hollyn K.

Hollyn is 10 years old and is in the 5th grade. She has been a student of Mrs. Gorin for about 4 years. Hollyn is very passionate about music and truly loves to play the piano. She enjoys sight reading new pieces of music and her favorite composer is Tchaikovsky. She has had several opportunities to compete as well as participate in various recitals. In 2007, Hollyn participated and won 1st place in level one at the World Piano Competition. As a result of this accomplishment she had the honor of playing at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Hollyn’s other interest include, reading, art, and playing soccer with the Westfield Soccer Academy.

Michiru K.

Michiru was born in Houston , Texas on August 17, 1995. After having lived in Sendai ( Japan ), Fukuoka ( Japan ), and Las Vegas ( Nevada ), Michiru and family moved to Carmel , Indiana in October of 2005. Although Michiru had taken some piano lessons while living in Las Vegas , they were very differnt from the lessons at the Mrs. Gorin's studio. Since Michiru started taking lessons from Mrs. Gorin in November 2004, he has come to really enjoy playing the piano, and has improved drastically. Michiru practices very hard everyday so he can perform well in shows and competitions, and make his family and teacher very proud!

Chendi L.

Chendi was born on January 2, 2002, in Lafayette, Indiana and now lives in Carmel with her parents and little sister Chenyao. She is 6 years old and is in kindergarten. She started her piano experience from the class— ‘Music for little Mozarts’ at Mrs. Gorin’s piano studio in October 2006. She is very glad to be back to the studio again and enjoys learning piano with Mrs. Gorin. She likes to play in recitals and is looking forward to the 2008 Guild Auditions. Besides playing piano, she likes drawing and making crafts. She also enjoys singing, dancing and traveling with parents.

Jennifer L.

Jennifer is nine years old, she has been taking lessons with Mrs. Irina Gorin for two and half years. She has won many different competitions, including Midwest, the Hoosier Auditions, Carmel Arts council, IPTG and World Piano Competition.

Jennifer's most memorable experience was winning first place in the World Piano Competition held in Cincinnati,Ohio. She also had chance to play at the Carnegie Hall in New York City

In addition to piano, Jennifer likes math, reading, swimming and skating.

Katie L.

Katie is a nine years old elementary school student. About three years ago she started to play piano and enjoys it very much. She also likes reading, drawing, dancing, of course playing. She is a happy, nice and smart girl.

Carly M.

Carly is an honor student at Carmel High School. She has been studying with Irina Gorin for nine years and has competed successfully in ISSMA, CYO, IPTA, Matinee Musicale and the National Guild Auditions. Carly has performed several pieces during worship services at the church and has accompanied instrumentalists in other performances. She currently enjoys teaching beginning piano students for Irina Gorin Piano Studio.

Jenny is 14 years old and in 8th grade.

Adelle M.

Adelle is a second grader this year and is in her second year of piano study. She plays piano and cello. Adelle loves music, reading, and playing with her friends.

Vineeta R.

I started taking piano lessons when I was just 6 years old. Since then, music has become such a significant part of my everyday life that I can’t imagine not playing piano. I enjoy playing the piano because it gives me a sense of accomplishment, as I see how my diligent practice helps me to move quickly to more advanced pieces. Taking piano lessons also gives me some skills that I can show to other people. One of the things I like the most about piano lessons is playing duets.

Angela S.

Angela is 9 years old, and she is a 3rd grade student. She has had piano lessons with Mrs.Gorin for 2 years and enjoys them very much. Angela has participated in recitals and the 2008 Guild Auditions. She won the IPTG scholarship in 2008. Besides playing piano, she enjoys swimming, reading, traveling, learning Chinese and playing with friends.

Grace W.

Grace was born on January 4th, 2000, in Utah and now lives in Indianapolis with her parents and 3 younger siblings, where she attends school at home. Grace is now 7 years old and since an early age has shown an affinity to music. Various music activities have been prominent in her home. During the last year when the family lived in St. Louis, she sang with the St. Louis Children’s Choir and then, since moving to Indianapolis, her interest in the piano has deepened considerably. This is in no small part due to her teacher, Irina Gorin, who, during the last six months, has helped her blossom, both in ability and interest. In addition to practicing the piano, Grace enjoys reading, drawing, needlework, and helping to teach her younger sister and brothers.

Camille W.

Camille was born on July 17th, 2002, in Iowa City, Iowa and now lives near Indianapolis with her parents and older sister Grace and 2 younger brothers. Camille is 5 years old and is in kindergarten. She likes to play the piano and began with Mrs. Gorin in the fall of 2007. Camille enjoys reading, drawing, dancing, and playing. She looks forward to being in a choir someday as she loves to sing.

Christina Y.

Born on May 15th, 2001, Christina Min Y. started piano lessons with Irina Gorin in June of 2007. Under Mrs. Gorin, Christina is introduced to an eclectic music repertoire and is challenged both technically and musically by those pieces. Despite playing piano for only a short amount of time, Christina has already gathered plenty of performance experience by participating in several ballet recitals and several piano recitals. She loves to read fairy tales in her spare time, is fluent in Chinese and English, and is currently learning Spanish in elementary school. Aside from ballet, some of her other hobbies include traditional Chinese dancing, singing, and painting.

Kailah Y.

Kailah is seven years old. She has had piano lessons with Mrs.Gorin for 6 months. In the summer 2008 Kailah is going to compete at the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati, OH, Level 4.

Kaitlyn Y.

Kaitlyn is five years old. She has had piano lessons with Mrs.Gorin for six months. This summer is going to participate in the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati, OH, level 1.
